Following a request from the National Consultative Ethics Committee, the Inserm Institutes "Cell biology, development, evolution" and "Pathophysiology, metabolism, nutrition" organized in cooperation with the Ethics Committee a one-day symposium on medium and long term health of children conceived by Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART).
The symposium presented the current data on the follow-up of children conceived by ART, mainly by intraconjugal in vitro fertilization (IVF) / intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) and on what is related to ART procedures or to other factors such as infertility of the parents. The ethical issues were also addressed.
